Books on Theatre and Drama in the Library
There is no one location for plays in the library. You will need to search the Library Catalog by play title. When searching a play title use the Keyword search. This will retrieve not only individual items with that title, but also items where that title occurs only in the Table of Contents (in an anthology or collective volume). For history or criticism of a play, you can use a keyword search or a subject search for the author and/or title.
Play texts and criticism are shelved by country, then by time period, then by author. For example, Russian literature has call numbers beginning with PG, British PR, and American PS. To find resources on the plays and literary traditions of a particular country, run a catalog Subject search using the adjective form of the country before "drama." For example, American Drama or French Drama.
General works on the Dramatic Arts (Acting, History of the Theatre, Broadcasting, etc.) can be found in PN1600-3307.
