What is Plagiarism?

Millsaps College defines plagiarism as: “the use of the ideas and/or words of others without attribution; the plagiarist incorporates some portion of the work or thinking of another into their own work, but does not acknowledge the source of that work or thinking. Instances of plagiarism can appear small (the use of a single sentence of text from the work of another author) or enormous (the wholesale copying of chunks of texts or entire documents).”
